Grand Guignol

Short plays popular in Parisian cabarets in the 19th century, especially at the Th��tre du Grand Guignol. The plays emphasized violence, horror, and sadism. Although Grand Guignol was introduced into England about 1908, it remained essentially a Parisian theatrical form.
